With the growing industrialization, expanding public sector, increasing size of firms operating in a wide varity of markets and intensified competition both at home and abroad, the need for competent and professionally trained managers is fast increasing in India.

The importance of professional management is now recognised not only in Business and Industrial sector where the role of manager is self-evident but also in other sectors of development including financial, commercial and social services, health, education and Government Administration.

The Institute of Management and Advanced Studies (IMAS) Lucknow was founded in May, 1986 to contribute to the Human Resources Development in the country through experience sharing, research, training, education and other forms of learning and knowledge generation. It is an autonomous body registered under the societies registration act XXI of 1860.

IMAS is well known organization and is actively engaged in the social welfare and rural development work such as Environment Awareness Camp., Plantation of Medical Plants, Education Policy and National and Civil integration awareness programme, Innovation awareness activities, Soil conservation Awareness Programme. Handicraft Development Activities, Aids Awareness and Pulse Polio Drive, Domestic Pet Animal Welfare Activities, Income General Programme, Computer Information Technology Promotion Programme, Management Education, Women Empowerment Programme, Tribal development programmes with the financial support from various Government agencies in different districts of Uttar Pradesh.

IMAS has established Innovation & Entrepreneurship Development Centre (IEDC) in year 2019 in association with Indian Society for Training and Development (ISTD) Lucknow. The primary objective to setup the IEDC is to create an environment of Innovation and entrepreneurship among masses.

Keeping in mind the needs of innovation and intellectual development IEDC provides technical support to more than FIVE innovative projects each year. Innovation Cell –IMAS

Objective of IEDC
  • Provide various services for enterprise building to budding S & T entrepreneurs.
  • Create Entrepreneurial culture in the HIET and other institutes in the region
  • Inculcate a culture of innovation driven entrepreneurship through student projects.
  • Promote knowledge-based enterprises and promote employment opportunities in the innovative areas.
  • Help the SMEs to respond effectively to the emerging challenges and opportunities
  • Emphasis is to identify and develop inexpensive innovative devices for acceptability of the population with the vicinity and then at large.
